There was a full house Sunday in Copenhagen's Church of King Christian, where Rasmus Lyberth held his Christmas concert for the 11th year running.
This time the artist was accompanied by Rasmus Lyberth Band, which he has toured with in recent years. Some 650 guests were treated to an hour and a half of Lyberth classics as well as songs from his latest CD 'Hey hey'.
Lyberth also performed his annual New Year's song, written each year for the concert. In addition, there were special guest appearances from violinist Jane Clark and guitarist Shane Donnelly – two traditional Irish musicians. Lyberth became acquainted with the two during the recent tour in Norway, where the duo appeared together with Danish singer Niels Hausgaard.
Psalms were also played at the Christmas concert and Lyberth was pleased with the performance.
‘We have toured a lot this year and performed for many people. I told the band that this time we have to sing for ourselves. I am very happy and touched,' Lyberth said.
Rasmus Lyberth Band consists of Jens Holgersen (bass), Michael Hansen (guitar), Hans Rosenberg (drums, percussion), Christian Søgaard (piano, accordion and keyboards) and Sidsel Marie Søholm (vocals and mouthorgan).
